Thanks for checking out the Going Green wiki.
Our first Green Sanctuary Action Plan has been finalized. It consists of 12 activities that are designed to celebrate mother earth through worship, education, and social action.
The Application for Green Sanctuary Candidacy forms are being filled out. The Application contains a Congregation Profile, information about our Green Sanctuary Committee, information from our Environmental Assessment, a copy of our Action Plan, and our communications plan.
A Communications Plan explains how the congregation will be involved in fulfilling goals listed in an action plan. Since, the Green Sanctuary Action Plan is a collaborative document, it makes sense to use collaborative tools in our communications plan, also. A Green Sanctuary Wiki will be the used to facilitate communication among church members. According to Wikipedia, “A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content.”
Some of you may say, “Whoa! pardner, not so fast, I don’t know how to publish information on the Internet. How am I going to participate?”
If you were told it was easy to publish information on the internet using a Wiki you wouldn’t believe. I wouldn’t believe it either. If you were shown, you might begin to believe, but if you actually published your green tips, hints and recommendations on the internet you would believe.
On most Sundays during the next year you can bring information with you and together we will publish your information on the Internet.
